What is it!?:The
International Creative Writing Competition was created in Georgia in 2003 and
has continued to grow with more and more countries participating as it
continues every year. Mongolia first joined the competition in 2011. The creative writing competition focuses on
having students respond to a prompt or question by answering in a unique way.
The day of the Competition: Students will sign in and receive a
number that will be used as their identifier. This is to make sure that there
is no favoritism when grading the papers.
Students will place the number at the top of the page and write the one
prompt/question that they will write about. Students will have one hour to
complete their essay. Older students 11-University students may have an extra
half hour if needed.
The Prompts will be sent out two days before the
competition. These prompts/questions are NOT to be shared with students until
they have to write the essay (the day of the competition). AGAIN: PLEASE DO NOT
SHARE THE PROMPTS OR PRACTICE WITH THEM! This keeps the competition fair
.
The day of the competition, students will have these
reminders, and directions, in the power point that also includes the
prompts.
